All Programming will incorporate holistic traditional approaches to healing and wellness and/ or include a Cultural Practitioner when needed.
Early Childhood Development and Learning Services will be available for occupancy and available at the permanent site once it is avaiable for occupancy and avilable to individuals of the Nipissing District.
The diversity of traditional healing practices and processes will be respected, encouraged and fostered within all health programs and child care services offered through the NBIH.
The North Bay Indigenous Hub (NBIH) primary focus is to improve access to traditional and culturally safe care for the Indigenous community of North Bay and for three partner First Nations – Nipissing First Nation, Dokis First Nation & Temagami First Nation.
All services will be available to First Nations, Inuit, Métis people, without distinction of status, non-status, or residence.
The intent is to complement & improve service coordination and collaboration across municipal, Indigenous, provincial, and/or federally funded health care and early childhood development & learning for the Indigenous population.
